Background:
Red Hill Field Primary opened in 1984 to serve the Narborough area, on the site of a Roman villa. The main building is open-plan with three additional teaching areas in mobile classrooms, surrounded by grounds which include playing fields, two playgrounds and two nature areas. The school takes advantage of these for curricular and extra-curricular sports and has won various netball tournaments, been joint holders of the Leicestershire County Football Cup, and won the local league and the Leicestershire chess championship. Links with the community are strengthened wherever possible and the premises are used by various groups. A charity fundraising event takes place each year. Projects such as sending a cow to Uganda, buying guide dogs and supporting national charities are viewed as helping to 'provide a well balanced education and a loving attitude towards others'. The Friends of Red Hill Field organise fundraising events for the school, currently a plan to pay for a roof for the courtyard. The primary is oversubscribed in all but two year groups.
