Background:
Alderman Richard Hallam Primary is an amalgamation of four schools, mainly serving pupils from the centre of Leicester. It enjoys an elevated position overlooking the city in 'extensive' grounds with 'generous' playground space. The school's pupils have the option of extra-curricular music groups, book club, choir, cross-country, netball and dance and the school has an 'enviable' reputation in competitive gymnastics and football. It has also been involved in a pilot scheme and local initiative to promote parent/child learning. The school is oversubscribed in certain year groups.
