Background:
Martinshaw Primary School moved to its present location in 1960. The main school building was built in 1957, and being an older school, the children are taught in separate classrooms. Infant and junior departments are on separate sides of the main school hall and each has its own playground. Children will be given many opportunities for performance, including singing, instrumentation, composing, exploring various forms of notation, improvising or developing musical ideas during performance. The school aims to promote the full development of the potential of the individual student, physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally.
