Background:

Opened in 1988, the school is housed in a modern, octagonal building with three distinct teaching areas for different year groupings. There is an 'architecturally striking' hall with a 'high wooden' ceiling and 'octagonal skylight'. The interior is 'extremely well appointed and resourced' and 'attractive' displays of the pupils' work are a 'strong' feature of the school. Lady Jane Grey has a 'successful and supportive' reputation for integration of children with special educational needs into the whole school community. Those children with 'emotional and behavioural' difficulties also find an 'accepting and warm place in the school, where they can develop their self confidence, skills and learning'. Regular workshops, discussions and curriculum meetings 'promote partnership and mutual respect and care' between parents and the school. Lady Jane Grey has produced 'many innovative and challenging' dance and drama productions over the years while many pupils participate in cross-country events at weekends. The school raises money each year for children's charities.
