Background:

St Thomas More School was built in 1965 and is situated in the Knighton area of the city of Leicester at the heart of the St Thomas More Parish. 'Accomodation is on two floors and consists of nine classrooms, a library, large hall, dining area, changing rooms, staff room, music room, special needs room and administration block. The school has achieved acclaim for its football team's six-a-side successes in 1997. The team represented Leicester City and Leicestershire as regional finalists. There is also an excellent orchestra group and choir who perform in the local community. Fund raising for charities is part and parcel of everyday life and last year the school raised over #1000.' 'Since September 1998 to the present date parents have raised over #22,000 for a new classroom which was blessed and officially opened by the Bishop of Nottingham on 13th October 1999'.
