Background:
The school is situated in Cossington, a small residential village about six miles north of Leicester. Children from the village attend the school, as do many children from the edge of Sileby. The school was opened in 1873 and the accommodation comprises of the main school building with the Infant base, office and cloakrooms. A pathway leads to the junior classrooms, hall and the school field. It also has the use of the village hall for dinners. Throughout the year, in connection with school projects various educational visits are arranged including residential visits. School clubs are held during the lunchtime and in school time. Clubs vary from term to term according to staff and parental availability but clubs have included football, netball, recorder, cross-country, story time, athletics, kwik cricket and Young Investigators Award.
