Background:
Groby Community College is a 14-19 comprehensive college and specialist language college, in partnership with Brookvale High School with whom it share a campus. The college provides an important centre for the delivery of community education in the area. It has a youth development officer based at the College, a large and varied programme of adult learning and a wide range of other opportunities for learners in the community. The college aims to provide life-long education for all who study and work there and this has been formally recognised by its recognition as an Investors in People organisation. Its extra-curricular activities include peripatetic music tuition, college team fixture, residential trips and other educational activities. A range of charitable activities takes place raising money for a particular cause, or assisting with local worthwhile projects. The ethos of the college is supportive and welcoming. It is also challenging and stimulating.
