Background:
Newbold Verdon is a well-established co-educational community primary school situated at the heart of the village. The school is proud of its links with the local community and the work of the community centre. The main school building was built in 1909. It has 11 teaching areas, a hall, activity rooms, sensory room, kiln room, library, offices and a kitchen. The children have access to a computer suite including the internet. Outside facilities include a marked activity playground, outdoor play equipment and large playing field with wooded area. School clubs vary from year to year but in recent times have included art, basketball, chess, cross-country, dance, drama, hockey, recorders, roller-skating and rugby. The National Training Awards Organisation has commended the school for its training programme. The school has family oriented ethos, which demonstrates understanding and embraces differences in people and communities locally, nationally and globally.
