Background:
Newbold is a rural school and is located in an former coalmining village. Facilities include three classrooms, a playground, small field and double mobile building. Pupils are offered a number of extra-curricular activities, including netball, football, dancing, guitar and recorder. There is also a school choir who 'enjoy performing' locally. At present the school belongs to three collaborative groups to provide support for the headteacher, teachers and pupils. Children become involved in a number of fundraising activities for charity. Provision for special educational needs (SEN) involves supporting children both in small groups and individually.
